D-TECH CONSULTING: BUSINESS OVERVIEW
D-Tech Consulting was my first startup company I built from the ground up; starting as a part-time side gig to a one-man business to a multimillion dollar professional Managed IT Services company.
D-Tech grew to over 70 clients on recurring monthly payments, providing a dozen services from technical support, hardware sales, platform migrations, and various cloud technologies. At its peak I had a staff of 24 with a solid layer of management overseeing the daily activities while I focussed on managing and growing the business.
I eventually sold D-Tech in 2019 to a local Toronto IT services provider.
The acquisition was a success for everyone. The extra hard work I put into developing long term clients, staff, and building bulletproof accounting records and solid processes made the sale happen quickly and provided extra value to the purchase.
FROM THE GROUND UP TO AN INDUSTRY LEADER
Growing a business from scratch was fun, lucrative, trying, and exhausting all at the same time. As the industry and world changed, so did the business. I recall several pivots in the company, from reactive support, to selling hardware, to being proactive, and ultimately converting to Managed IT Services.
